Syracuse Chapter Family Picnic Used Equipment Anyone wishing to sell or donate used equipment and/or uniforms to new members Tony DeVivo Scholarship
On behalf of the Syracuse Chapter of the NY State Baseball Umpires Association, Along with members of the selection committee, we are especially honored to be joined by His wife Betty DeVivo. A devoted family man and longtime umpire, Tony was a dedicated community leader for youth sports. Tony was a man of action, a leader who rallied others to share in his volunteerism. As umpires, we see young ball players who hit homeruns, throw smoke, and make diving stops. The young men we honor tonight have demonstrated the DeVivo spirit. Ladies and Gentlemen, here are the winners of the 2011 Tony DeVivo Memorial Scholarship. Brian Burns played baseball at West Genesee High School. He will attend Ithaca College to study Physical Therapy. Andrew Sanders of Auburn High School will also attend Ithaca College where he will major in Business. Evan Terrell of LaFayette High School is on his way to Binghamton University this fall to study bioengineering. Patrick Roberts, from Skaneateles High School will major in engineering at Virginia Tech. As a matter of fact, he is there now attending college orientation and could not be with us this evening. Let’s have a big hand for this year’s Tony DeVivo Memorial Scholarship winners as they throw out tonight’s first pitches! Summer Contacts Updated!
